Office of Communications: Department of Media Relations
Scope and Contents
Materials include news releases, calendar releases, public service announcements, biographical information, photographs, news clippings, correspondence, memos, and speeches. Some files deal with the administrative matters of the Department of Media Relations, however, most of the collection is comprised of subject files covering trustees, fellows, faculty members, administrative staff, events, projects, and general background information on Brandeis University. The collection also includes news clippings about Brandeis throughout its history. Parts of the collection were created and maintained by Dennis Nealon and Jerry Rosenwaite. The department published The Brandeis Reporter, a faculty-staff newspaper which is now defunct.

Biographical / Historical
The Department of Media Relations is part of the Office of Communications. Media Relations ensures that local, regional, national, and international print, broadcast, and electronic media outlets receive all news-worthy information about Brandeis University. The office provides the media with information on events, research, appointments, awards, and honors at the University. Media Relations was formerly called the News Bureau.
