The Center for Public Service was founded in June 1978 for the purpose of reaching out to the metropolitan Boston and New England community. The Center sought to educate public professionals on how to bridge the gap between academic theory and actual practice, conducted forums on public policy issues, and directed research projects to evaluate the effectiveness of social service and economic development programs.
