Scope and Contents

This collection consists of over 1,000 dime novels, with an extensive collection of the works of Horatio Alger, Harry Castleman, Oliver Optic, and other boys' and girls' literature of the 19th and early 20th century. The collection also contains numerous newspapers and periodicals of the same era. A preliminary container list of the collection is available on the Robert D.
