Scope and Contents

From the Series:

A large series of correspondence, the bulk of which dates from the 1970s onward.  The files contain correspondence between Sachar and various individuals and institutions.  Topics addressed include discussions of donations, speaking engagements, academic programs, specific concerns of correspondents, and the general well-being of the university.  There is also a large amount of correspondence consisting of personal greetings and exchanges.  Significant figures included are Leon Jick, Nahum Glatzer, Rabbi Albert Axelrad, and Cardinal Bernard Law, as well as the correspondence with later Brandeis presidents and administrators.
