  • Scope and Contents

    This collection contains seven posters from the Paris Commune (a short period near the end of the Franco-Prussian War, when the residents of Paris established their own government in opposition to and in rejection of rule by the Republican National Assembly). The posters range in date from March 24 to May 5, 1871. This is a small representation of the hundreds posted during the Commune. All but one are Communard (#3 is presented by members of the National Assembly).
