  • Scope and Contents

    The collection includes Yiddish sheet music written for the Yiddish stage, Yiddish and Hebrew folksongs, and cantorial compositions. The majority of the collection was published in New York by Hebrew Publishing Co. between 1906 and 1917. Other publishers include J &J Kammen, Metro Music Co., and S. Schenker. Notable composers include: Abraham Goldfaden,  J.M. Rumshisky, Henry A. Russotto, and Solomon Smulewitz.
