Series 3: Editorial Files includes published and unpublished drafts of articles, submissions of written work, editorial notes, one floppy disk, and correspondence related to the process of generating content for Lilith. Materials are arranged by subject, and then chronologically within each folder. Many of the editorial files include multiple drafts of a piece, with editors’ comments and corrections documenting the process of a manuscript’s development. The editors most heavily represented in the series are Susan Weidman Schneider, Aviva Cantor, Susan Schnur, Amy Stone, and Naomi Danis.
The editorial files contain drafts, notes, and reference material for many of Lilith's stories, including manuscripts that were never published. Sub-series 2: Personal Stories in particular contains a number of unpublished stories; according to several notes from Lilith editors, the volume of stories recounting personal experiences and family histories was too great to publish the majority of them. The editorial files provide a unique insight into not only the stories and concerns of Jewish women from the 1970s to the 2000s, but also into the editorial process and considerations of Lilith's editors.
