    Robbie Pfeufer Kahn (b.1941-09-26) is a Professor Emeritus of Sociology at the University of Vermont. Kahn received her MA (1983) and PhD (1988) in Sociology from Brandeis University. In 1988, she was a lecture for the Sociology Department before joining the faculty at the University of Vermont in 1990. She is the author of Bearing Meaning: The Language of Birth (University of Illinois Press, 1995), winner of the 1997 Jesse Bernard Award of the American Sociological Association. In 2006, she won the Innovative Course Award from the Humane Society of the United States and the Center for Life and Environment.
